With the full blown recession rearing its ugly head, many industries would be focusing on maintaining infrastructure, and making sure that these are running in excellent condition. This Planning, Optimisation, Scheduling and Control Of Fuel Blending Systems workshop provides that information for refinery operators and engineers alike. The workshop covers all technical, operational, modeling and economical aspects of fuels blending control and optimization systems. Beginning with an overview of refining, including all aspects of blending gasoline, diesel and fuels, it moves on to field equipment and operations, from actual machinery and analysers, to computer hardware and software, to model based tank quality prediction. The course also covers process models, including basic control and optimization strategy; advanced blend control and optimization sytems; and the keys to successful and economical blending control project execution.

Mr. Donald E Dixon
is a Principal of Refinery Consulting, USA and is a specialist in formulating, building, and running linear programming models and then interpreting and applying the results to operations, studies and projects. His expertise comes through decades of real-world experience with refining and petrochemical companies and engineering and construction firms. He is experienced in refinery planning & economics, long and short range planning, and Linear Programming modeling. He has expertise in feasibility studies/conceptual designs, project management and process design. His working experience includes working on the 5-year plan for a major oil company and providing crude oil selection, product material balances and evaluating capital projects. He also developed a preliminary design for a billion dollar petrochemical complex, the design of which included material and utility balances for several related processing units. He earned a M.E. Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1972, a B.S. Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1965, and a CFP University of Houston in 1992.
